CHESHIRE EMPLOYMENT SCHEME GIVEN GREEN LIGHT

Cheshire East Council has approved the construction of a business park at Wardle airfield near Nantwich.

Phil Posnett, who owns Wardle airfield north of Nantwich, wants to convert it into a 160-acre industrial estate.

The former RAF Calveley is now used as agricultural land but Mr Posnett`s Haughton Estate wants to develop around 1.3 million sq ft of employment space.

This will include 40% for distribution purposes, 40% for light industry and 20% general industry with the potential for 1,800 jobs.

Conor Vallelly, principal planner at HOW Planning, advised on the case. He said:
