Stockcar Champion Kevin

Kelvyn Whalley won the BriSCA F2 Stockcar English Championship at Buxton Raceway last weekend.

The Macclesfield racer was pitted against 30 other competitors for this major championship on the BriSCA F2 Stockcar racing calendar on Sunday.

Whalley started near the back of the grid and used his knowledge of the track to his best advantage in a fast race full of incident.

A small amount of rain just before the start of the race meant car set-ups were slightly compromised, as the previous races had been held in dry and sunny conditions.

The opening laps saw a few competitors slide out into the fence, but all resumed and settled into a quick race.

Whalley carved his way through the field, and with three of the 25 laps remaining the two leaders went wide allowing him to take the lead, which he never relinquished for a much-deserved victory.
