Police appeal after elderly woman goes missing in Macclesfield

Police are appealing for help from the public in tracing an elderly woman reported missing in Macclesfield.Officers are becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of Sheila Anson, aged 78, who has dementia and can become confused. She was last seen in the Victoria Road area of the town at 4.30pm today (Wednesday 26 November).

Sheila was last seen wearing a beige Barber jacket with a belt, black trousers, beige shoes and a multi-coloured roll-neck jumper. She is 5′ 5″ tall, of slim build, has white hair and wears glasses.

Inspector Stuart York said: “Extensive enquiries have been ongoing in the local area in a bid to trace Sheila. We would urge anyone who may have seen her or anyone who has been in contact with her to get in touch as we are very concerned for her welfare.”

Anyone with any information is urged to call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 639 of 26 November. Information can also be left anonymously, via Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
