Police appeal for witnesses to serious collision at Tatton Park

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision on Ashley Rd, Rostherne at the junction with Rostherne Lane and Tatton Park’s “Rostherne Drive” gateway on Sunday 19 July at around 5.15pm/5.20pm.

The incident involved a motorcycle which was travelling along Ashley Road in the direction of Ashley village when it was in collision with a silver Mercedes minibus taxi which was coming out of Rostherne Lane onto Ashley Road.

The rider of the motorcycle, a 17 year old man from Manchester received serious/life threatening injuries and remains in hospital in a critical condition.

At the time of the collision the Tatton Park Food Festival was taking place and Police are asking anyone who was using the Ashley Road or Rostherne Lane about this time or had attended at the Park and may have witnessed the incident to contact them, in particular the occupants of a white Nissan Juke believed to have been in the area and may have seen the vehicles involved prior to the collision taking place.
