As a young group of musicians living in Hohhot, northern China, AnDa Union’s repertoire consists of songs from the region’s past. Describing themselves as music gatherers, much like the Warsaw Village Band who visited Buxton in mid-2015, AnDa Union are keen to showcase the rich and exotic sounds of their ancestors.

On Friday 12 February at 1pm Scaw Duo will take to the helm for this month’s Coffee Concert. With a mix of bass, clarinet and piano the duo will explore the colourful side of classical music with inspiration from both jazz and folk. For country music fans there’s Gretchen Peter’s 20th Anniversary tour (Sat 13 Feb), with music from her vast back catalogue and new album Blackbirds.  Whilst Transatlantic Session’s musicians McGoldrick, McCusker and Doyle (Friday 19 Feb) will deliver a rousing mix of flute, Uilleann pipes, guitar and fiddle music. Jazz at the Arts Centre, another monthly event will take place on Sunday 14 February and feature the Original Panama Jazz Band with traditional and Dixieland favourites.
