Police appeal following serious collision in Congleton

Police are appealing for information following a serious collision in Congleton.

The incident took place at 3.30pm on 14th March on the A34 Congleton Road in Marton near to the entrance of Higher Gorsey Farm.

It involved two vehicles – a red VW Polo, which was travelling towards Monks Heath – and a black Hyundai I 20, which was travelling towards Congleton

Three people sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.

The driver of the VW Polo, a 29-year-old man, was airlifted to Wythenshawe Hospital with serious injuries.

The 52-year-old driver of the Hyundai was taken to North Staffordshire Hospital and a passenger from the Polo, a 27-year-old man, was taken to Wythenshawe hospital for treatment.

Officers are currently investigating the collision and are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed what happened or has seen anything significant to come forward.
