Dunham Massey provides the perfect setting to enjoy everything autumn has to offer. Experience the changing colours of the season in the park and garden, spot the deer during their annual rut, join in with exciting events and visit Dunham’s Lost Years before the house closes for conservation over the winter months.

“Autumn is always a popular time of year at Dunham Massey”, says Assistant Visitor Experience Manager, Katie Clayton. “Visitors can make the most of the bright autumn sunshine and misty mornings surrounded by beautiful autumn colours in the garden and park, before retreating indoors for cosy meals in the Stables Restaurant.”

“This autumn, visitors can enjoy a whole range of events- we’re excited to be hosting the Panasonic Photography Roadshow for the first time alongside popular annual events such as our Rut Walks and fun family activities throughout October half-term.”

The garden and park provide the perfect backdrop to enjoy crisp autumn days. Experience stunning autumn shades as brightly coloured foliage floods the garden and bulbs such as cyclamen begin to bloom. Take a walk in the park and see if you can spot the clash of antlers as Dunham Massey’s deer herd go into battle during their annual rut, which reaches its height in October.

Be sure to visit the house and experience Dunham’s Lost Years: a Victorian Tale of Love and Abandonment before it closes its doors for winter conservation on 30 October. Take the chance to meet the Victorian servants at work in the house, find out about life below stairs and help them with their chores (weekends and Sat- Wed during October half term).

Bring your camera and capture autumnal colours at the Panasonic Photography Roadshow on 1 and 2 October. Meet photography experts, try the latest Lumix cameras, have your portrait taken or join a photography walk.
