Police appeal for witnesses following Wilmslow burglary

Police are appealing for witnesses after thieves stole a car from an address in Wilmslow.

Shortly before 3am on Friday 21 October 2016, a brick was thrown through the window of a house in Dean Drive and car keys to a white Audi A1 were taken.

As they attempted to drive away the victim tried to stop them and was dragged off his drive and trapped between another vehicle causing severe bruising.

The offenders  then fled the scene in the car.

DS Simon Mills said: “This was a particularly nasty incident where a man was injured trying to protect his property. It is understandable that you want to protect your property, but these offenders were determined to take the car and were prepared to take it at any cost. I would advise that if you ever find yourself in this position you call 999 immediately and keep yourself safe.”

Anyone with information can contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 82 of 21 October 2016.

Alternatively information can be given anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
