Witnesses sought following Congleton robbery

Cheshire Police are appealing for information following a robbery in Congleton.

On Tuesday, November 15, the victim was walking along Hancock Road, close to the junction of Red Fern Avenue, at around 13.50 when he was approached by a man.

The man punched the victim, aged 26, in the stomach, produced a knife, then held his hand out for the man to hand over his wallet. After the victim handed it over the offender ran along the footpath off Red Fern up towards Buxton Road.

The man is described as being white, aged around 20 years old, approximately 6ft in height and wearing a black bobble hat, black jogging bottoms and black jumper. He was also wearing a green, brown snood or scarf and black knitted gloves.

A 5-6 inch knife he was carrying is described as being a military dagger, with a black blade, khaki green handle and was narrow at the base. The knife is wider in the middle and narrows at the end, both sides are believed to be serrated.

Anyone who recognises the offender or may have any information is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 525 of 15 November.
