Police appeal for witnesses to Congleton robbery

Police in Congleton are appealing for witnesses following a robbery in the town.

At 9.20pm on 4 March 2017 two women were walking along Fox Street when they were approached by two men dressed in dark clothing.

They pushed one of the women causing her to fall. The men then stole her handbag and ran onto the A54 towards St Stephens Church.

The men were both dressed in black clothing with their hoods up. They were in their late teens early 20s and of slim build.

DC Phil Macey said: “The victim was left shaken and bruised by her ordeal. Thankfully this is an isolated incident and we are continuing to make a number of enquiries in the area to find those responsible.

“I would urge anyone with information to contact me.”
