Easter at Little Moreton Hall – Egg hunts and seed bombs

Help wake the garden with egg hunts and seed bombs this Easter at Little Moreton Hall, Congleton,

Egg hunts, Fri 14 – Mon 17 April 2017, 11am – 4pm;  Easter craft activities from 10 – 23 April

The garden at Little Moreton Hall is bursting into life just in time for Easter. Cadbury egg hunts galore will be taking place at the Hall across the Easter weekend, with those who finish getting a yummy chocolate treat.

However, it’s not all about chocolate, as Jo Williams, Visitor Experience Manager explains: “Our theme across April and May is gardens, and it ties in with our project, ‘How we used to sleep’, [1] which looks at the sleeping habits of our Tudor ancestors compared to those of twenty first century England”.

“For example, the Tudors grew and used a variety of herbs to aid sleep, and we’re currently in the process of creating a ‘sleep garden’ at Little Moreton Hall where we can look at what worked 500 years ago and what works today. Over Easter there’ll be gardening talks explaining more about this, and children can make a seed bomb or paper flower to take home with them (10 – 23 April)”.

Meanwhile, if it’s raining over the Easter holiday, there’s still plenty to do at Little Moreton Hall. Try dressing up as a Tudor, take part in craft activities, family trails, or even designing a stained glass window!.

Visitors can expect the usual delicious treats in Little Moreton’s tea-rooms over Easter with a range of homemade traditional cakes including  Victoria sponge cake, lemon drizzle and gluten free chocolate brownies.

A children’s menu is also available.

Little Moreton Hall is open daily until Sunday 23 April then Weds – Sun, 11am–5pm. For more information visit www.nationaltrust.org.uk/littlemoretonhall or call 01260 272018.
