Detectives urge witnesses to come forward following armed robbery

Detectives investigating an armed robbery at an off license in Macclesfield are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

At around 8.20pm on Monday, 20 November two men entered Bargain Booze on Chester Road. One of the men brandished a knife and threated staff into handing over money. Both men left with a quantity of cash and went off in the direction of the Regency Mill roundabout.

One of the men is described as being white, of a medium build and 6ft in height. He was wearing a dark coloured duffel coat with a furry hood, tracksuit bottoms, black trainers with white soles and an orange and red bandana covering his nose and mouth. He was carrying a kitchen knife and was wearing a red bobble hat.

The other man is described as wearing dark clothing with the hood up.

Detective Sergeant Simon Mills, of Mascclesfield Response Team, said: “I would encourage anyone who may have seen two men matching these descriptions around the time the offence took place to come and speak to us.

“Any information would greatly help us in identifying and locating these offenders as quickly as possible.”
