Macclesfield street robbery

Police are appealing for witnesses following a street robbery in Macclesfeld.

A 22-year-old man, walking along Nicholson Avenue towards Garden Street at around 4.15 am on Saturday, 15th September, was jumped from behind and threatened with a knife.

The suspect, described as white, 6ft 3ins to 6ft 4ins tall and of stocky build,  wearing dark clothing, possibly a Nike tracksuit, with the hood over his face, had a Liverpool accent. He then fled on foot with the victim’s wallet. He was last seen heading toward Middlewood Way.

DC Gareth Nixon Said: “Thankfully the victim was unharmed, but he was left shaken by his ordeal. The attacker stole a black wallet which has JP on the front with a silver shield. The wallet contained cash and a sentimental passport photograph of the victim’s late mother. I would urge anyone who has seen the wallet, or who has any information to contact police.”
