Detectives seek owners of gold jewellery

Detectives in Chester are seeking the owners of gold jewellery discarded by suspected thieves.

At 11.25 am on Friday 28 September officers stopped a Ford Transit van on Vicars Lane in Chester.

During the stop one of the two passengers got out of the vehicle and threw a carrier bag into Grosvenor Park. Officers searching the area recovered a bag which contained a quantity of gold jewellery.

Three men, aged 29, 22 and 26, were arrested on suspicion of burglary and have been released under investigation.

Detective Constable Keith Campbell, of Chester Beat Initiative Team, said: “As part of our investigation we want to identify who the jewellery belongs to, whether any offences have been committed and to reunite it with its owners. The jewellery could be from almost anywhere in the UK therefore I would encourage people to show the photos of the jewellery to their friends and family and contact us on 101.”

Anyone with information should contact Cheshire Police on 101 or via https://www.cheshire.police.uk/contact/general-enquiries/ quoting 18100303746.
