Macclesfield man cycling 500 kms in Zambia

A 70-year-old member of the Rotary Club of Macclesfield Castle, Clive Howlett, is to cycle 500 kilometres from Lusaka to Livingstone, in Zambia, next May 2020, in aid of  Lendwithcare.

During his working life, Clive had a distinguished career in education and is currently a member of the Macclesfield Talking Newspaper.

Lendwithcare.org supports small scale businesses throughout Asia, Africa and South America and the Rotary Club provides help by supplying young entrepreneurs with loans to enable their business ideas to grow. They then pay back the loan over an agreed period.  Once the loan is repaid it can be reused for another fledgling business.

As he is funding the trip himself, all the money raised by Clive will be donated to Lendwithcare.org, to enable them to continue offering this wonderful service.

Over the past four years Macclesfield Castle Rotary have provided 120 loans to help 508 entrepreneurs.  Through these loans the Rotary Club have helped 1636 family members and created 378 new jobs enabling children in remote villages to go to school; medical bills to be paid and lives changed.

Amazingly, in five years, there have been no defaults on the loans.

Lendwithcare say “Make a loan. Change a life”.  Can you help Clive raise money for this fantastic charity  by donating to his Just Giving Page?
