Can you see Macclesfield in a different light?

Macclesfield Barnaby Festival is back and Macclesfield’s community groups are needed to bring their interpretations of the 2020 theme VISION to life through the parade.

Barnaby is about Macclesfield’s amazing people, without who’s energy, ideas, creativity and spirit, Barnaby wouldn’t be Barnaby.

The Parade open call meeting will be held on 25 Feb at Artspace on 2nd floor, Sutton Mill, Heapy St, Macclesfield.

2020 marks ten years since a vision for Barnaby and the parade – a marvellous spectacle and celebration of costume, colour, movement, fun and creativity, came to life.

And your help is needed to make it happen again.

Here are just some visions and theme ideas for the 2020 parade:

  • Who and what helps us see better?
  • Seeing things differently
  • Celebrations of colour and light
  • Visual impairment

This is not a restricted list, this is your chance to show us your own creative ideas!

Advice on taking part from Macclesfield Community ArtSpace:
A good Parade tells a story through costume and activity – groups are encouraged to include sound and movement in their Parade entries and to show everyone how to have a great time! We’ll happily help you find ways to do this so get in touch with Lauren Smethurst  at parade@barnabyfestival.org.uk

We look forward to hearing from you!
