Appeal for information following fatal collision

Cheshire Police are appealing for information following a fatal collision at the junction of Manchester Road and Dean Row Road in Wilmslow.

The collision occurred at around 9.35 pm on Monday 26 July involving a black Indian Scout motorcycle and a silver Vauxhall Astra.

Sadly, the motorcyclist, 70-year-old Leonard Royle from Wilmslow, died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

In a tribute, his family said: “We are deeply broken by the tragic collision that has left us without Len, he was a kind caring man and loving husband to Christine, Len will be missed by all.” 

The family would like to thank the emergency services and members of the public for their help during this incident and ask for respect at this difficult time.

The traffic light controlled junction at Dean Row Road and Manchester Road in Wilmslow

A 35-year-old woman from Manchester has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in custody assisting police with their enquiries.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or may have captured dashcam footage of the vehicles around the time of the incident to come forward.
