Road repair programme underway

Cheshire East Council’s road repairs are underway, but a total of just 16 miles out of the total borough road network of 1,677 miles will be resurfaced.

The programme of carriageway patching, surface treatment and full resurfacing, began on 16 July and is planned to continue through the summer – when temperatures are higher and the weather usually drier.

Works will be done at various locations across the borough and, where possible, will be coordinated to reduce the impact on road users.

The programme of works is prioritised in line with a defined scoring criteria, which can be found on the council’s website

A Cheshire East Council spokesperson said: “The programme will improve some of the key sections of highway network and this will naturally cause some disruption and inconvenience, for which we apologise in advance. We would ask drivers to be patient and please plan ahead.”

The council’s online roadworks tracker can be found at: Latest roadworks
