    Christmas events at Tatton

    Tatton Park, Knutsford, Cheshire, WA16 6SG

    Tis’ soon the season to embrace the festive spirit and where better to celebrate Christmas than in the magical grounds of Tatton Park? Known for its family offering and festive traditions, they’ve pulled together a number of top events for this Christmas.

    Father Christmas at the Farm

    For the believers in all of us, visitors can meet Father Christmas and his reindeer, Prancer and Dancer. Music from choirs and brass bands accompany a children’s entertainer and storyteller and everyone can have a go at making their own magic reindeer feed. Tickets are available at £7.00 for adults and £6.50 for children (0-15) including a gift. No pre-booking necessary.

    The ‘Food Glorious Food’ Christmas Mansion

    Enter a magical Christmas Mansion inspired by the theme of ‘Food Glorious Food’. Discover the impressive state rooms and servants quarters decorated to celebrate seasonal fayre: experience a traditional Egerton family feast in the dining room, follow the jelly sweet path as it twists through the gingerbread village and enjoy the scents of oranges and cinnamon in the scullery. Help the servants with their Christmas food preparations and don’t forget the ‘sprout spotting’ trail for little ones! Festive treats and music will accompany your visit.

    Join other revellers for a jam-packed day of festivities, shopping and food! Pick up those last minute gifts in Tatton's popular Christmas Gift Fair, light Father Christmas' route with lanterns as he pays a special visit to the Stableyard and don't forget to bring your Christmas list to put in the special Santa post box!

    Tatton's Food Glorious Food Mansion, specialty shops and restaurants are all open later than normal - finish off your evening with a winter warming dish or a festive afternoon tea with fizz!

    Christmas Gift Fair Weekend

    With over 40 stalls in the atmospheric Tenant’s Hall, the popular shopping fair offers a wide range of unique gift ideas, food and drinks – perfect for those last minute presents! Free entry.

    This year the nationally acclaimed NCO will delight audiences with a mixture of popular classical music and festive favourites for all the family to enjoy!     Macclesfield Male Voice Choir – Sat 15 Dec, 7pm

    Presenting a programme of well-known male voice numbers and Christmas classics, the fabulous Macclesfield Male Voice Choir return to Tatton Park by popular demand.     Christmas Carols in the Stableyard – Sun 23 Dec, 3-4pm

    Sing-a-long to your favourite carols with the brilliant King Edwards concert band and choir. Pick up last minute gifts and enjoy warming winter food and drink in the Stableyard. For a truly magical Christmas experience visit the Farm and Mansion first to complete the festive fun.

Anson Engine Museum
Every Friday,Saturday & Sunday from 13 May – 29 October 2006 Time: 10:00am – 5:00pm Details: In his book, Horst O Hardenberg describes how the Otto-Langen engine displayed at the 1867 Paris Universal Exposition was called a Rattling monster or Devil s machine. Despite this, the engine went on to take the prestigious gold medal, beating the French built Hugon and Lenoir engines. Later that same year, Crossley Brothers in Manchester became the licensed manufacturer for Otto-Langen engines in the UK & Colonies. It is hailed as the first commercially successful engine The ?Rattling Monsters? exhibition tells the history and development of these engines as well allowing you the chance to see many exhibits never before made public. This exhibition is a World First!
