Macclesfield were made to work hard for it, but fewer wins this season will be sweeter than their derby victory at Crewe.
Macc`s win didn`t hoist them any higher but, the 12th-place Silkmen sit just two points off the play-offs, thanks to yet another fine strike by Ross Draper.
The hosts enjoyed territorial advantage early on but Macc keeper Jose Veiga was rarely in danger of breaking sweat, AJ Leitch-Smith`s looping header being the closest Crewe came to a goal in the first half.
