Macclesfield Town youngster Michael Thomas has signed a new one-year contract with the Silkmen. The central midfielder, who can also play at the heart of defence, rose through the club`s youth system to make his senior debut at Burton in September 2009 and went on to make a total of four first-team appearances as a substitute in 2009/10. Thomas, 18, spent most of this season gaining valuable experience on loan at non-league side Mossley and will now remain under contract at Moss Rose in 2011/12.
