KIDDERMINSTER HARRIERS 3 MACCLESFIELD TOWN 0

Macclesfield had no answer to a resurgent Kidderminster as they slid to defeat.

The Harriers, led by former Macc star Steve Burr, thoroughly deserved the points from their second straight win and gave Steve King plenty to think about, with his side having taken just one point from nine.

Macc were on top for the majority of the first half but went in a goal down, thanks to some slack defending at a corner.

As Callum Gittings delivered the cross, Chey Dunkley showed the greater desire and towered highest to head the opening goal on 42 minutes.

The visitors had been reduced to shooting from distance but struggled to trouble Harriers` keeper Nathan Vaughan, with Waide Fairhurst, Peter Winn and Charlie Henry all guilty of wasting their openings.

Needing to re-assert their authority after the break, Macc got off to a disastrous start, as Ryan Rowe combined well with left-back Mickey Demetriou and found the bottom corner of Lance Cronin`s goal.

Cronin had kept the Silkmen within touching distance with impressive saves to deny Rowe and Josh Gowling but was left helpless as the Harriers sliced through the backline to double the lead.

The Macc defence went walkabout again 15 minutes from time, allowing substitute Marvin Johnson to thump home the third.
