MACCLESFIELD TOWN 2 CRAWLEY TOWN 2

Never say die Macclesfield produced a breathtaking fight back in their ever more frantic battle for League survival.

The Silkmen`s first chance fell to Marcus Marshall but he could not get a touch on a dangerous George Donnelly cross in the 17th minute.

And they were made to pay when Claude Davis picked out the far corner with a low drive in the 37th minute.

Crawley, who had not won in six before their trip to Cheshire, extended their lead two minutes after the break when Kyle McFadzean drilled home another bullet from just outside the box.

Vinny Mukendi might have got Macc back into the game five minutes later but he froze in front of goal, while Gary Alexander should have made it three for Crawley but fired over from eight yards.

Mukendi gave Macc a lifeline in the 84th minute when he rattled home the rebound from a Mendy drive. Donnelly then produced a moment of magic to pick out the far corner from eight yards deep in injury time.
