Iconic poplar trees lost
ilovemacc has received a number of calls, from members of the public, regarding the loss of the five Lombardy poplar trees that stood behind 39-43 Churchside, by St Michael’s Parish Church.
Following enquiries we learned that the land-owners had been given permission by Cheshire East to remove them.
We understand the poplar trees were over 100 years old.
The photo shows the last remaining one – shortly before it as felled.
