Police Audit & Ethics Committee members needed

John Dwyer, Police & Crime Commissioner for Cheshire and the Chief Constable Simon Byrne wish to appoint up to three additional people to join the four existing members. Policing in this country is by public consent and transparency and demonstration of police integrity is critical in ensuring the public’s trust in policing. The Commissioner and the Chief Constable have recently widened the scope of the Audit Committee to cover police ethics and integrity.

The three new members must have a good understanding of the issues facing local Cheshire communities and the police and be able to scrutinise integrity and ethical matters.

John Dwyer said, “This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the wider policing family. I’m looking for individuals who have Cheshire’s community’s interests at heart, as this will enable them to scrutinise the force’s integrity and ethics. I look forward to welcoming the new members to the committee.”
