Do you own a business? Are you seeking advice on an exit strategy?

Local law firm SAS Daniels LLP is joining forces with accountancy practice Hammond McNulty to deliver a seminar providing business owners with a step by step guide to preparing for a successful exit.
Business owners from sole traders through to family run companies in Congleton and surrounding areas are invited to attend the breakfast seminar on Thursday, 7 May at the Riverside offices. Experts from SAS Daniels and Hammond McNulty will offer legal and financial advice on preparing the business for sale, the legalities involved, as well as advice around certain pitfalls including the unexpected death of a business owner or partner and the plans you should have in place to safeguard your business assets.
Helen Gowin, Head of Estate Administration & Probate and Partner at SAS Daniels, Congleton said: “Business owners put a lot of thought and effort into starting their business and the same level of planning needs to go into selling it.
“Few business owners stand still long enough to consider what to do when the time comes to retire, sell or hand over control and inevitably that day arrives. Worse still, the unexpected death of a business owner or partner can leave the future of a business or the bereaved’s family in a difficult financial situation.”
Amanda Grint, Partner, Hammond McNulty added: “Making the decision on when to leave a business is never easy, so having a carefully orchestrated plan in place is imperative. In addition it is paramount that the maximum sale price is achieved and the correct tax planning is incorporated into any deal.
“Our breakfast seminar offers a chance for business owners to find out all they need to know to plan, prepare and execute their exit strategy both from a legal and financial stand point.”
The free event will take place at Riverside (main building), Mountbatten Way, Congleton, CW12 1DY on Thursday, 7 May from 8:30am-10:00am. Places can be reserved by contacting Collette Roberts on Tel: 01260 282341 or collette.roberts@sasdaniels.co.uk.
