Babygrow Appeal is SAS Daniels LLP’s charity of the year

Macclesfield law firm SAS Daniel has announced that the Countess of Chester Hospital Babygrow Appeal is its new charity of the year.

The charity is looking to raise £3 million overall to build a new neonatal unit to provide patients and their families with a bigger, more spacious and private facility.

Staff from SAS Daniels’ Macclesfield, Chester, Congleton and Stockport offices will join forces to take part in a number of fundraising activities to support the Babygrow Appeal including cake sales, dress down days, bag packs and charity walks to help them towards their target.

The Babygrow Appeal was chosen from a selection of Cheshire-based charities nominated by the firm’s employees.  Each year the law firm’s employees vote for who they would like to raise funds for.

SAS Daniels’ previous charity of the year was the Hospice of the Good Shepherd in Chester. It successfully raised over £1,500 for the charity and donated an equal amount towards creating a memory garden to help families remember their loved ones. Employees also rolled up their sleeves and gave up their time to help develop the new garden.

Jean Walker, Head of CSR and Partner at SAS Daniels said: “We are committed to supporting our local communities and our charity work is an essential part of this.

“With so many local charities doing such great work, it’s never an easy decision choosing our charity of the year, however I am delighted we have selected the Babygrow Appeal as it is an extremely worthwhile cause dedicated to supporting families when they need it the most.

“We look forward to working with the charity to support them in any way we can and helping it reach its target of £3 million.”

Lesley Woodhead, Corporate and Events Fundraising Manager, Countess of Chester said: “We are thrilled that SAS Daniels has selected us as its charity of the year. The new neonatal unit will provide a much needed facility to support families as they go through what can an extremely distressing time and SAS Daniels’ dedicated support and involvement over the next twelve months will really help boost our fund raising efforts.”

In addition to its support for a chosen charity, SAS Daniels also supports its local communities in a number of other ways. It offers mentoring support for students undertaking the Undergraduate Young Enterprise Scheme, collecting food items for the Stockport Foodbank and recently helped Congleton in Bloom plant trees in remembrance of WW1.
