Four charged over distraction thefts

Following a Cheshire Police investigation into distractions thefts at two supermarkets in Congleton four people have been charged.

A 44-year-old man was charged with two counts of theft and two counts of fraud by false representation; a 33-year-old woman was charged with two counts of theft; a 40-year-old man was charged with theft; and a 36-year-old woman was also charged with theft.

They will appear at South and East Cheshire Magistrates on 3 December 2015.

The charges relate to a distraction theft at Aldi in Congleton on 19 November and Morrison’s in Congleton on 27 October.

The two victims aged 84 and 72 had their cards stolen and cards used to withdraw money.
