Ray Mears – live on stage

Ray Mears, the man who can divine the weather by listening to the leaves will be in Buxton on Friday 1 April, with an insight into what it means to be a survivor.

In a riveting and inspiring presentation, Ray will give stories and anecdotes, highlighting the ingenuity, adaptability and sheer determination of human beings when faced with impossible odds.

According to Ray, anyone coming to his new show will hear plenty of tales of how to survive, as well as learning how to be safe in the wild, whilst taking a gap year. He has a particular word of advice to those people: “don’t stuff your backpacks with fancy gizmoz, knowledge weighs nothing at all.”

Stripped bare by adversity, survivors cling to the most fundamental emotions, instincts and human qualities. Ray charts focussing on returning to loved ones as one of man’s most astonishingly powerful survival tools.

In an uncertain world this could be the most important evening of your life!
