Appeal following fatal collision in Plumley

Officers from the Cheshire Roads Policing team are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision on the A556 at Plumley.

The collision between a cyclist and a red HGV occurred at approximately 4.30pm on Wednesday 13th July on the eastbound carriageway of the A556, Manchester Road, just outside Northwich.

Cheshire Police, Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service and North West Ambulance Service attended the incident, but sadly the cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

Formal identification of the cyclist has yet to take place, although he is believed to be a local man.

Anyone with any information in relation to the incident is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 616 13/7/2016. Information can also be reported anonymously to Crimestopers on 0800 555 111.
