Hawkwind at The Opera House

Tuesday 23 May 7.30pm

Formed in 1969 by former London busker Dave Brock, Hawkwind have seen numerous line-up changes throughout the years, but Brock remains at the helm and is known affectionately as the Captain of the Ship. They played at the first Glastonbury Festival and are widely acknowledged with creating a brand new genre of music – space rock.

Following the success of Silver Machine in 1972, the band went on tour with the mind blowing Space Ritual, which set the precedent for all future Hawkwind shows. The barrage of light, sound, dance and theatrics has since become a hallmark of all subsequent Hawkwind shows, making each gig a unique and spectacular event, rather than ‘another standard rock concert’.

Joining founding member Dave Brock, as well as Richard Chadwick on drums and Haz Wheaton on bass, in the line-up is Buxton based bass player and vocalist Mr Dibs, who has been long-time collaborator with the band.

Tickets for Hawkwind are £25. To book, call the Box Office on 01298 72190 or buy online.
