MP pays tribute to “outstanding” school

Macclesfield’s MP, David Rutley, recently paid a visit to Park Lane School to learn more about how the school helps pupils achieve their full potential. Park Lane School is an all-age Special School that caters for children and young people with severe learning difficulties.

During the visit, David had a tour of the primary and Key Stage 3 classes, where he met staff and a group of 7-9 year old pupils, using a touch screen computer to make choices and demonstrate their understanding.

David and head teacher, Lorraine Warmer, discussed the progression of pupils through the school, and the opportunity they have had to undertake community based work experience placements.

The school currently works with a number of local employers and voluntary organisations offering work experience.

The School Staff and Governors are committed to providing high quality education and care – endorsed by OFSTED who have consistently judged the school to be “outstanding”.

David thanked Ms Warmer and the staff for the important work that they are doing – saying “It is clear that the school makes an invaluable contribution to the personal development to each of its students. I hope that more local businesses and organisations will show their support to the school and its pupils by offering much needed placements for the young adults who currently attend Park Lane.”
