Wayne Hemingway heading for town

“The highly successful series of WEAVE Town Talks returns after a summer break on 7th September. This must-attend free event at Macclesfield Town Hall, will offer a rare insight into some of the leading creative minds helping to shape our urban future and examine how to involve the creative industries in regeneration of local communities.

The headline speaker will be the world-renowned designer Wayne Hemingway, who brings a unique understanding of the creative process – from building the Red or Dead fashion label, through to his Hemingway Design agency which has led on numerous inspiring and high-profile regeneration projects, including the ongoing development of the Anfield district in Liverpool.
Speaking ahead of the event, Wayne said: “I am looking forward to visiting Macclesfield on 7 September and speaking at the WEAVE Town Talk event. Cheshire East has a huge potential to create spaces for its creative and digital businesses to thrive, and also ensure that future development reflects local creativity; to summarise we need places for creatives and creatives for places.”

Wayne will be joined by Katie Popperwell who develops the cultural and creative industries partnerships for Allied London (developers of Manchester’s Spinningfields, Old Granada Studios and London Road Fire Station) to build an ecosystem for creative industries companies to thrive.
Following the speakers, a panel Q&A discussion will focus on local regeneration schemes, enabling technologies, community co-creation and resources required to further ‘build’ the towns of Cheshire East.”
