Celebrate spring at Quarry Bank

Spring is bursting into life at Quarry Bank near Wilmslow, filling the gardens and estate with spring flowers and wildlife. Over the school holidays families can go on a nature adventure with the National Trust to discover the sights and sounds of the season.

On weekdays from Tuesday 3 – Friday 13 April families can get stuck into activities and trails where they can explore the great outdoors and have a go at the National Trust’s 50 things to do before you’re 11 ¾. Near the historic glasshouse, children can pick a nature activity from a random generator which will send them off to find a daffodil, discover the texture of a tree or listen to the sounds of the garden. They’ll also be able to make mini homes for mini beasts and have a go at moving like a caterpillar, a challenge which will involve the whole family coordinating and working together.

“Spring is such an inspirational season and everyone loves to see the days get longer and the gardens fill with colour.” said Visitor Programming Officer Suzanne Bowling, “We’ve created lots of fun nature-themed activities for the spring holidays where families can connect with the natural world around them and explore the estate at Quarry Bank.”

Over the Easter weekend itself, children will be able to indulge in a chocolate treat when they take part in the Cadbury’s Easter Egg Hunt at Quarry Bank. The spring themed Easter egg hunt will be available from Friday 30 March – Monday 2 April.
