Appeal for witnesses following fatal collision near Knutsford

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Ollerton, near Knutsford.

The incident took place on the A537, Chelford Road, near to the junction of Seven Sisters Lane, around mid-day on Monday 14 May.

The collision involved a grey Mercedes and the driver of a blue heavy goods vehicle.

The driver of the Mercedes stopped at the scene and was joined by members of the public who provided assistance until the arrival of ambulance crews. Sadly, the driver of the HGV, a 64-year-old man from Verwood, Dorset, died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

PC Geraint Williams said: “We are looking to speak to anyone who may have seen the HGV parked up or may have seen the incident itself”
