Memorial bench stolen – police appeal for information

Police are appealing for information after a memorial bench was stolen in Wilmslow.

Sometime between 11am and 3.30pm on 27 July thieves stole the teak bench from an address in Simpson Street.

PC Steph Darbyshire said: “This is a Java Teak bench with an American Eagle carved into it.

“It has great sentimental value to the owner who bought it in memory of her late husband and she is very upset that heartless thieves have stolen the bench.

“As it is such a unique piece of garden furniture we’re appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the theft, been offered the piece for sale or anyone who has seen it to get in touch.”

Anyone with information should contact Cheshire Police on 101 or https://www.cheshire.police.uk/contact/general-enquiries/ quoting IML 144469.

Alternatively information can be given anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
