Sense and Sensibility

Published back in 1811, Sense and Sensibility remains on of Jane Austen’s favourite works. The Dashwood sisters Elinor and Marianne face the trials and tribulations of growing up in Regency society. Following the death of their father, the sisters find themselves in a small cottage in the country after they are removed from the family home. The sisters experience love, romance, and heartbreak as together they must find the balance between Sense and Sensibility.

This adaption is presented by Chapterhouse Theatre Company who over the years, has established itself as one of the most successful and critically acclaimed touring companies in the country. Chapterhouse has revived and re-imagined some of the very best literary classics and performed them to sell-out audiences across the UK.  Sense and Sensibility is adapted by award-winning writer Laura Turner who has written various plays and also is currently developing a television pilot.

Sense and Sensibility is on stage at Buxton Opera House on Thursday 11 October at 7.30 pm.
