Roe-naissance News

The Christ Church Roe-naissance project team consists of nine volunteers working with The Churches Conservation Trust to define a new purpose for Christ Church – a grade II* listed engineering marvel built by Charles Roe in 1775 in the heart of Macclesfield.

The church is open to visitors on the last Sunday of each month – from 11.00 am to 4.00 pm. Musicians will often be present.

Creative art sessions are also being held on the last Saturday before the last Sunday of the month – from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm – for anyone to have a go at making and performing. These occasions are free – donations are welcome to support the team’s work.

The project team are seeking more volunteers to assist with all aspects of reviving the church – including a treasurer, someone with graphic skills to work on publicity, stewards, researchers, gardeners, archivists, organists –and anyone with a talent for display would be more than welcome.

The theme being ‘Geography, Travel and The Natural World – A view of sustainable fashion from across the globe’. Students and designers from Macclesfield will be modelling their own creations.
