Take the kids to see Santa at Quarry Bank

If you’re planning to take your young ones to see Santa take our advice and head for Quarry Bank Mill.

You’ll get an individual meeting with Santa, who’ll spend several minutes chatting with your children. They’re guaranteed to leave with a present under their arm and a smile on their faces.

Along with Santa there’s a session learning to make Christmas tree ornaments, a storytelling session and a gingerbread man for each paying child on leaving.

And, if you’re a National Trust member, you pay just under £10 for each of the children to meet Santa – accompanying adults go free!

Allow an hour – during which your kids will be in raptures – spend the rest of the day touring the fascinating Georgian cotton spinning mill and gardens.
