Appeal for missing Buxton man

Police have issued a new appeal in the search for a Buxton man who has been missing for nearly a month.

Christopher Coleby was last seen in Corbar Woods Lane in Buxton on the evening of July 17.

A spokesperson for the Derbyshire police said: “We are still searching for Christopher and are growing increasingly concerned for his safety. He is from Buxton but we believe he is sleeping rough in wooded areas and are asking walkers who are out and about this weekend to call us immediately if they see him.”

His family has released a number of images, one of which shows Christopher wearing a blue Berghaus hooded jacket, which is what he was wearing when he went missing. He also wore light grey jogging bottoms, a blue t-shirt and black walking boots.

He was carrying a large backpack with a green camping mat attached to the bottom and is shown (above) in a CCTV still, taken in Chapel-en-le-Frith on the day he went missing.

At the end of last month, Christopher’s mother issued a heartfelt plea for help to find him.

She said: “Words can’t describe how we’re all feeling just now.

“Please keep helping us find him by looking out for him.”

Anyone who sees Christopher or anyone with information about his whereabouts should call police on 101, quoting reference number 865 of July 21.
