British television chefs The Hairy Bikers, David Myers and Si King recently visited the Indian Goat food truck, at Bollington Recreation ground car park, to film at the venue for their Christmas series.

The Indian Goat food truck will feature on the show in December on BBC TWO after the chefs visited on Wednesday (August 4).

Owner and chef at the Indian Goat, Sunitha Southern, said her meeting with Dave and Si was one of her ‘greatest’ experiences.

She said: “They are one of my inspirations, they love food and they also cook humble food.

“Si and David love to explore and try different foods, just like me as most of our menu is from British produce, with inspiration from my childhood in India and my travelling experience.

“The fact that they visited the Indian Goat just feels amazing and is one of the greatest moments of my career.”

“We knew that they were coming because they called us beforehand and researched us.

“There was a process to be selected and we were selected as one of the five places they visited for the show in the North of England.”

Sunitha started the Indian Goat journey in 2018 by hosting pop-up events and hiring local restaurants.

Due to the success of these events, in December 2020, Sunitha established a food truck at Bollington Recreation Ground where she began cooking authentic Indian street food.

Sunitha’s aim was make Indian food available during less typical hours of the day, she said: “I do not come from a typical chef background, but I’ve always considered myself a good cook and when I moved to the UK, it was a culture shock.

“Indian food is not typically available here throughout the day and I wanted to change that by making it available.

during breakfast and lunch hours.”

The Indian Goat is open for business everyday from 10am to 4pm, except for Tuesday.
