Macclesfield u3a is an organisation for those who may have retired from work but certainly not from life.

The group  are launching into the autumn with displays from some of the 45 local u3a  groups at a coffee morning at Macclesfield Methodist church [opposite Whalley Heys car park] on Thursday 27th October from 10.00 until 12.00.

Featured will be the painting and art group whose current collage work is depicted below but members also undertake still life, water colour, sketching and field trips out.  If you are interested in taking part or have a friend who might like to join please see Macclesfield u3a web site [ www.maccu3a.uk] and come along for a familarisation morning.

Other stalls include Photography group, Mahjong, Croquet, local history discussion group, European studies , craft and several language groups.  The Technology and science speakers as well as sport play a big part in the social activities from walking to table tennis.

The main speaker this month is local Dorothy Bentley Smith, author and historian speaking on Sand Sea and Silk from 11.00 am.  She always has a new slant on Macclesfield activities from the past and present!

Come along on the 27th  Learn, Laugh and Live is our strapline to keep active and engaged in the later years and enjoy a social morning.
