Jack scores 150 goals for Adoption Matters

Footy mad Jack Arrowsmith, aged 7, wanted to put his skills to the test and chose local children’s charity Adoption Matters to support in the process.

Jack set himself a challenge of scoring 150 goals and, with a couple of Haribo breaks to get him through it, he achieved this within just 1 hour 30 minutes.

Full of determination, Jack has managed to raise £335 for Adoption Matters, which is £135 more than his initial target.

All of the funds raised will go towards vital adoption support for children and families – something that we believe is crucial to the success of any adoption.

Lindsey Arrowsmith, Jack’s Mum who works for Adoption Matters Centre for Adoption Support based in Warrington, said:

“Jack said he wanted to help adopted children feel better and the money he raised will hopefully do that. He has done fundraising before but decided to choose Adoption Matters this time as he wanted to help other kids – I was a bit taken aback when I realised he wanted to fundraise for us.

“He is a really kind and empathetic kid and he is very thoughtful of others. He sets his own challenges, one challenge, he did 100 laps of his garden, and originally, he wanted to score 450 goals, but I told him that was maybe a bit too big of a challenge!

“As you can imagine, he’s very determined and doesn’t make the challenges easy for himself! His dad was the goalie and didn’t make it easy on him either, he had to work hard for it. Jack is just very interested in what I do and he understands adoption.”

Adoption Matters Chief Executive, Susy White, commented:

“We are so grateful to Jack for taking on this challenge for Adoption Matters. He absolutely smashed it – well done Jack!! The funds that he has raised will make a big difference in helping us to continue to support more children and families. Thank you.”
