    The Royal Cheshire Show

The Royal Cheshire County Showground, Tabley, Cheshire

The Royal Cheshire County Show will be back in the summer of 2022 – bigger and better than ever.

This year’s show will feature TV favourites Simon Rimmer and Jean- Christophe Novelli as two of four fabulous celebrity chefs heading up the culinary attractions on June 21st and 22nd this summer.

The annual family-friendly show, organised by The Cheshire Agricultural Society, celebrates the county’s agricultural heritage with a wide range of trade stands, food stalls and farmers’ markets, competition classes for horses, cattle, sheep, pigs and dairy goats and attracts up to 100,000 visitors.

Simon Rimmer will showcase his culinary expertise with three demonstrations in the Roberts Bakery sponsored Food Live Theatre on Tuesday 21st June.

Co-presenter of C4’s popular Sunday Brunch, Simon has written five successful books and is chef/owner of 16 restaurants in the North West of England, Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Simon commented, “I’m really excited to be returning to the Royal Cheshire show this year. It’s a great event and I’m looking forward to showcasing my recipes and cooking with some of the wonderful local produce on offer!”

Also set to make a return is Jean-Christophe Novelli who will be talking to the Food Live Theatre audience on Wednesday 22nd June.

Visitors to this year’s Show can also expect an excitement-packed Main Ring with the Paul Hannam Quad Bike Stunt Show, Shetland Pony Grand National, Gauntlet Bird of Prey display and grand finale of the Cheshire Young Farmer’s Float Competition.

The Show’s competition programme will be back to pre-pandemic levels, with the return of all the Show Jumping classes.

Further attractions will include the hilarious and educational Sheep Show and the Countryside Live Arena will showcase a range of traditional rural life and skills with the Agri-centre providing an educational journey from plough to plate, demonstrating where our food really comes from.

The Cheshire Agricultural Society continues to support local farming, agricultural and rural related businesses with donations to the Cheshire Federation of Young Farmers, Churches Together in Cheshire, North West Air Ambulance charity and Cheshire County Scouts Council at the charities recent AGM.

Rob Davenport, Royal Cheshire County Show Director, said, “After the uncertainty of the last couple of years, we’re really excited to see the Show return to its full capacity this summer. From mouth-watering demonstrations from our celebrity chefs to all the exciting attractions you can expect to see in the Main Ring and beyond, there’s going to be something for everyone to enjoy.”
