TESCO OBJECTION LETTER

One of our readers has submitted the following letter objecting to the planned Tesco development.

He has kindly agreed for it to be published.

Hopefully more of the many people who have been in contact to express their concerns about this development will follow suit.

Several template letters with suggested areas for objection can also be found at: http://www.communityonline.co.uk/default.asp?dismode=article&apage=2&artid=7391

Dear Sirs,

Planning Application: No 12/0112M

I wish to register my objection to this scheme.

Tesco already take a huge amount of business out of the local economy. I believe the increase in sales they are seeking has been vastly understated and the impact on local retailers would be significantly more than they claim.

In their Submission document their claim on loss of business (diversion) they fail to address the knock-on effect for local businesses. All of these businesses employ other local businesses: printers, plumbers, builders, electricians, photographers, accountants, etc. Any impact felt by the retailer would also affect the many other local businesses who supply them
