The Dangers of the Main Road

Ok let’s go straight to the chase, traffic on the Moss Estate can be a problem. A few days ago I saw about five children running across the main road, but there was a catch, there were cars in the road. One child actually ran in the middle of the road and sat down!

Have you ever seen the advert “See Tracks Think Train?” Well here’s a new one “See Road Think Cars!”  Do you know that four out of five people have been killed by a car with the normal speed limit!

I have seen a child hit by a car and survive. I know him as a friend now. I thought he was seeing his life flash before his eyes.  To know someone that has had that experience is scary.

If you are next to any road you should always look left and right because you can’t take any chances. Some people think the car will stop, maybe it will, but what if it doesn’t? Your life will be over. You may not want to listen to this but you must always be careful when you are crossing the road, because you do not know what might happen.

In addition there are many people who speed. I know someone that is never in a rush to go anywhere, but they still speed. They probably think it’s cool to speed but is it cool when you run over a pedestrian? This is when they would have to face the consequences.

So if you are driving or walking through the Moss Estate remember to slow down and be careful.
