Police investigating death of cyclist at Mow Cop

Cheshire Police were called to Mow Cop Lane last night at around 6 pm

On arrival the officers discovered that a cyclist had come off the road and collided with a tree.

North West Ambulance Service attended the scene, but sadly the cyclist, a 36-year-old man from Crewe, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Next of kin have been informed and formal identification is expected to take place later today.

Investigations are currently on-going to determine the cause of the collision, although officers are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.

Anyone with any information in relation to the incident is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 729 of 27/9/2016.
