Young musicians gather for a concert to remember

The Peak District Music Centres’ (PDMC) string and wind ensembles, big band and choir return to the Opera House for their hugely popular annual Gala Concerts.

Peak District Music Centres is a charitable organisation which brings young musicians together, to help nurture and advance their talents. A number of former players have pursued successful careers in music, and developed a lifelong passion for music and music making.

In this annual gala over 250 of the area’s most talented young musicians will perform well-known classics, movie hits and even a touch of jazz. Local primary school children in the Derbyshire City & County Music Partnership Wider Opportunities programme will also be involved.   The concerts will showcase the achievements of players in their early years through to the highly accomplished and renowned Peak District String Orchestra, Peak District Wind Band and Peak District Big Band, many of whose players are also members of the Derbyshire City & County Youth Orchestra and Wind Band. Their precision and youthful exuberance are guaranteed to lift the spirit.

PDMC Annual Gala Concert is on stage on Sunday 17 June at 2pm & 7pm

Tickets are priced at £5-£8 (matinee) £6.50-£9.50 (Evening) some discounts are available.
