New on-call firefighter for Macclesfield Fire Station

A new recruit has joined Macclesfield Fire Station as an on-call firefighter after successfully completing his training.

Macclesfield resident Sean works in a dual role for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service, Alongside his on-call firefighter role, he’s also been training as an apprentice firefighter for nearly two years and has less than three months training remaining.

In his spare time the 27-year-old married father of three enjoys jiu jitsu and spending as time with his family.

Sean said: “Becoming an on-call firefighter is such a rewarding role that allows you to work with some remarkable people and  help those in need. It allows you to challenge yourself and learn new skills to deal with incidents such as trauma care, working from height, road traffic collisions, hazardous materials, fighting

fires and much more.”

“I’d encourage anyone else who’s looking for a job which pushes you, makes you want to achieve more and help those around you to consider becoming an on-call firefighter.”
