Tytherington dog theft thwarted

A dog theft was narrowly avoided this morning by the swift actions of the owner.

The owner was walking her dog along Sandwich Drive, Tytherington at around 7 a.m. when she became aware of a white Ford Transit van which appeared to be tracking her movements.

The dog owner changed her direction several times, but the van – registration number PK04 LHN – continued to follow her, even making several u-turns.

The van driver eventually contrived to block her way and the driver attempted to grab her dog – but fortunately the owner was able to get away.

Macclesfield police have been informed – but you are advised to be extremely cautious and vigilant if walking a dog.
